See how Realtors across the real estate blogosphere are giving content a unique spin with these 10 real estate blog ideas. 140 down, 225 ¼ real estate blog content ideas left to go! 131. FSBO—Easy To Do?Every Real Estate agent has had sellers that are currently going the FSBO route, and have decided that they can’t do it. Will you take them on as a seller and help them where they’re falling short? This happens all the time, so why is it that FSBO just doesn’t work for some people? And how do you handle that situation? EXAMPLE: Here’s a little guide all about FSBO. I like how it gives you tips on how to get an FSBO-er as a client, without upsetting them too much where money is concerned. 132. Feature a FilmWhen was the last time you were at the movies? Who’d you go with? What did you see? How was it? The general public wants to know!
EXAMPLE: Here’s a review of one of the most talked-about films out right now. This post is excellent for generating a discussion, because even the most unintelligent readers (not to say that your readers are unintelligent, but you never know!) can keep up with the discussion. 133. How Does Your City Stack Up Against the Competition? Why don’t you compare and find out? I’m sure that with your biased opinion, your city will win (that’s fine), but it’s worth doing the comparison anyway. See, I’m from Baltimore (yes, I am a true Baltimoron—I bleed purple and black), and I can compare Baltimore to its closest competition, Washington, DC. Not that they compare at all. Sorry, DC dwellers! EXAMPLE: Here’s a comparison of Los Angeles to Kansas City. Which city would you rather buy in?
134. Share a SonnetOr any other work that you love. You could even make this a weekly or monthly thing. Like, “Friday’s Inspirations” or hopefully something a tad more creative and keyword-rich. EXAMPLE: This example is more of a one-time deal, and that’s okay too. Maybe you don’t want to inspire your readers that much, and occasionally is the route for you. 135. Trivial TriviaThis is a fun way to tell your readers about your town, in a short-and-sweet manner. Just run down a list of interesting tidbits and share them. You can find this information easily enough in your town’s library or at your local Chamber of Commerce’s website. EXAMPLE: Here’s a just-for-fun peek into Denver. I didn’t know a lot of this stuff. Then again, I’ve also never had the pleasure of visiting Denver. This post probably generates a lot of traffic because it’s one of those weird-but-true kinds of things that people are fascinated by. 136. Do Your Schools Measure Up?Well, you can certainly find out. The school boards put out annual reports, and they’re publicly accessible. I don’t think it would be necessary to publish the entire thing, since I’m sure it would be quite long and extremely boring, but you can publish the highlights and link to the actual report in case someone has a lot of time on their hands. EXAMPLE: Here’s a nicely done post on a school board’s annual report. The reader only has to see the highlights, and none of the boring garble. 137. When Getting a NOD is Not GoodOh, the dreaded Notice Of Default. The first step of the foreclosure. Many people have no idea how a foreclosure works, and while no one ever wants to experienceone, the fact is that recently, many people have. EXAMPLE: I really enjoyed this post, first, because I love anything Brian Brady has to say, and second, because it gives you solutions in terms we can all understand. 138. What’s That I Smell?Perhaps it’s mold. It’s a mean, sometimes green, house-eating machine. What ever shall you do about it? EXAMPLE: I now know, because I read this post. I recommend you do the same. It’s very informative and outlines a huge problem in selling. There’s nothing like getting an offer and then having the buyer retract because the inspection reveals the house is full of it. Mold, that is. 139. Solar Powers, Activate!I know we’ve been talking a lot about “going green” lately, but here’s a switch for you. Solar power. You remember that? Whatever happened to it? Everyone just kind of stopped talking about it, though I do see those solar panels on people’s roofs and swimming pool covers all the time… EXAMPLE: Here’s a prime example that solar power is still alive and well. Did you know you can build your entire home to be solar powered? How cool is that? 140. Are You Telling Me That Payments Are Optional? Are reverse mortgages popular in your market? Well, maybe they would be if people actually heard of them! I never had, until I found this post. You are a Real Estate expert, but we’re not. We buyers and sellers have no idea of what our options are most of the time. HELP US! EXAMPLE: This is an informative post that outlines what a reverse mortgage is, in terms that I can understand as a consumer. Check it out, this is good stuff. Micheal, I'm sorry you cried, but hey, emotional content engages readers. That' a good thing! :) But the way, I love the word "jeepers". You just don't hear that one anymore... John, Thank you for the additional information. I have to correct you, though, because I'm not Ms., I'm Mrs. Sorry, guys ;) Comment on this article This post has no feedback awaiting moderation... |
