As a Realtor®, you have local, market and property information that no one else has. If you have a forum to freely share that information, you become an expert in your readers eyes.  People like to do business with experts!  A blog is the best way to regularly communicate your expert knowledge with your prospects and clients.  Lets look at how to blog like a real estate expert.  The following article is your guide to blogging for expert status.
 

The truth is, you can be the best Realtor is your metro area, but no one wants to hear that from the horses mouth.  So, instead of spending your time talking about yourself on a blog, impart your inside information on the local community, the housing market and how to best buy and sell a house.

Top 5 tips on how to blog like a real estate expert

1. Educate your visitors on the buying and selling process. In general, you have two types of visitors, buyers and sellers.  Cater to each.  Write informational and educational articles on how to buy and sell houses.  How-to article and Top 5 or 10 articles tend to interest readers most.   
2. Guide people around your local community.  Your expertise extends to your community.  You know your backyard better than anybody else.  Tell visitors where to shop, where to eat, where to socialize and what to do on weekends.  Give them a guided tour of your area right on the web.  Top 10 articles on where to eat, shop and play are the best.
3. Whats happening to the real estate market locally? You live it, so tell it.  If your market is experiencing a downturn and sellers need to be aware that they might have to reduce their prices, let them know.  There are plenty of sources on the Net to get real data on whats happening- use them and quote them.  People appreciate statistics and projections and it makes you seem like a well-read expert that cares about what is happening to the market.
4. Make careful recommendations.  This is key- dont just link off to any old website.  Be sure that when you link to another website- that site has a valuable page rank and the information is topical.  You want to create value for readers and search engines alike, so as an expert, you need to be discriminating when you link to another website.
5. Write frequently.  While blogging at least one 250 word article per day is preferred the minimum we recommend is 1 article per week.  The gold standard in blogging content is 100 pages of content.  I dont recommend stopping there, but your goal should be to reach 100 articles on various topics.  Once you hit that target, you can make money on your blog with Google AdSense and an Amazon affiliate shop.
