See how Realtors across the real estate blogosphere are giving content a unique spin with these 10 real estate blog ideas. 160 down, 205 ¼ real estate blog content ideas left to go! 151. Announce a BirthdayIs someone special having a birthday? Give them a shout-out post celebrating their special day on your blog. It could be a co-worker, an employee, a contact you’ve made, or even you (if you’re a bit of an attention hog!). EXAMPLE: Teresa wrote a funny and interesting, short-but-sweet post all about her friend Larry’s birthday. I’m sure Larry appreciated the gesture very much, and perhaps he will return the favor when Teresa’s birthday rolls around… 152. Oh, Behave!Just like any other social function, there are dos and don’ts of Open Houses. For instance, running around screaming about how phenomenal you think the kitchen looks is probably taboo. I would probably also recommend that you avoid testing out the swimming pool. I know it’s hot outside, but get ahold of yourself! EXAMPLE: Ines (yet again!) wrote a great post that tells you the proper etiquette for an Open House. These are all easy things, like making sure you wipe your shoes, and watching out for signs that the agent is ready to leave. 153. Step Right Up for the Greatest Job on Earth! Are you in need of some new agents, or do you just have a need to add more competition to the Real Estate market? Whatever your motives, your blog is a great place to recruit new agents to the field. Chances are, there are lots of readers to your site that have no involvement in the Real Estate world at all. Perhaps they would like to change that? EXAMPLE: Christine Adler is passionate about finding some new agents to join her team. What a great post. She really makes the Real Estate world seem exciting and desirable! 154. Too-Tiny TemplesWe’ve all lived in or visited a home that was so small, you can’t even turn around in there! You know, like that studio apartment you rented in college, that was really nothing more than a glorified walk-in closet with a toilet in the corner? Yeah. EXAMPLE: Here are some neat-o gadgets made ‘specially for micro-digs. Need a fireplace? Why not hang one on the wall? There are some pretty cool items available on the market, so go and shop and share with your readers! 155. Web Tools We LoveEven non-Realtors can appreciate a cool site feature, so do a little research and write about something cool. Don’t worry about sounding like a tech-geek, because if you say what you need to say in basic English, it will be understood. EXAMPLE: Readers love embedded shows, apparently. This post not only makes sense, but it also keeps you interested. I like to be kept interested. When I’m bored, I’m heading elsewhere. That’s why this approach to taking tech works. 156. Man, You Gotta Relax…Take some tips from the pros and learn how to de-stress the home buying process. Did you do it? Good. Now share those gems with your readers. Not only will the buyer love you for helping them calm down a bit, but you’ll also love yourself for being brilliant enough to have to foresight to helping your buyers before they grow snakes out of their heads. EXAMPLE: Buyers are living a stress-reduced life in Silicon Valley nowadays, thanks to this post. I especially love the part about wearing slip-on shoes. What a great idea! 157. What Every Seller Should KnowAs a professional, top-notch Real Estate agent, you know your sellers’ rights off the top of your beautifully-styled head, right? Well, this may come as a shock so brace yourself, many sellers don’t know their rights! Gasp! EXAMPLE: This is a simple enough concept, but surprisingly, many agents forget that the sellers aren’t aware of their rights. I’m so glad Lenore was savvy enough to pick up on this and share her expertise with the world. 158. Bad Staging 101Staging seems to be the latest trend in making your house look a little cooler than it really is. Actually, it’s not such a new trend. It’s been going on for years, but lately it seems to have really gotten out of hand. I remember when I staged my house, it was all about moving the furniture for optimal placement, making the house smell good, and opening the blinds the exact right amount to let in the best amount of light. EXAMPLE: This had me cracking up! Are they serious? They made the tub look like part of the rainforests in Sri Lanka! Wouldn’t it be fun to do a series of posts titled, “Bad Staging Photo of the Week”? 159. To License or Not to License, That Is the QuestionI’m sure people that spend a lot of time and money investing in Real Estate eventually ask themselves the all-important question, “Should I get my Real Estate license?” That’s a good question, and with all good questions come many good answers. EXAMPLE: I liked this answer the best, probably because it isn’t exactly an answer. It’s a very well-thought-out compilation of pros and cons. It really lets the reader decide whether the pros outweigh the cons for them, personally. And that’s what really matters after all, right? 160. Get You Vroom OnWho doesn’t like a car show? There’s nothing more all-American than loading up the kids and good ole Grandpa to go see all the old cars. Maybe afterwards you can all go get some ice cream. It’s bonding time! EXAMPLE: Here’s a great list of local car shows. I love the idea of finding a particular type of outing and writing a post about it, with lots of ideas of where and when. This is the type of content that keeps readers coming back. Do you have some great content ideas or are you successfully using unique content on your real estate blog? Tell me all about your ideas in the comments of this post with and I may include your site in one of the future installments of this series. Comment from: Ines [Member] Wow Fairy Godmother.....I am honored yet again! I love this series because I can see blogs I would usually not know about, thanks! Ines, yes, there are so many great blogs out there! I just wish some of them were easier to find. Comment from: Derek Burress [Visitor] Erin: I started a bookmarks page (see the link in my signature), I update it regularrly adding and removing blogs that I do not read anymore. Only about 4 of those sites link back to mine so I have no problem removing them. Anyways, feel free to go through my list and see if there is any on there that you have not yet seen. I basically put them on my site rather than bookmarking them on my laptop so if say I am at school or something and want to go visit a site, all I have to do is go to my site and click it off the page. Google may not like it, but I don't care much about what google thinks about my site as I am inactive at the moment to go to school so.. Plus rather than a huge blogroll on the side bar, putting them on a page keeps the sidebar short and the main blog page clean looking.
Comment from: Geoff [Visitor] Hey I like that comment about putting the blogroll on a seperate page - Thanks! Comment on this article This post has no feedback awaiting moderation... |
