See how Realtors across the real estate blogosphere are giving content a unique spin with these 10 real estate blog ideas. 180 down, 185 ¼ real estate blog content ideas left to go! 171. I Need Options! If this seems like a simple concept, that’s because it is. People like to hear about all their options, along with the pros and cons associated with each. EXAMPLE: This article is all about rentals. It’s basic info, but you have to remember that you are writing for the general public! What you think is basic, is not always so easy for your readers. 172. Show Me the MoneyGot a tip for your investment property owners? You can share it with them, and I’m sure they’ll thank you for that. An investor is always looking to make more money, which is why they invested in the first place (duh). EXAMPLE: I love the idea of making this into a Tip of the Day series. It’s short and easy to digest, but always with good ideas. Good job, Carol! 173. Give it Some Gas?Equity Acceleration programs cater to the need of the American people to go faster. I don’t know why we’re all in such a hurry, but we are. It can be debated whether Equity Acceleration programs are more of a scam or a benefit. What do you think? EXAMPLE: SoundBiteBlog answers the question from both aspects with this brilliantly written article. It’s an involved read with wonderful photographs. Two thumbs up. 174. Ready or NotIt’s Open House time! Does you seller know what that even means? I’ve been to a lot of Open Houses in my life, and I have seen some incredibly ill-prepared homes. There’s nothing worse than walking into your sellers’ home to find laundry in a pile or dirty dishes, or an un-vaccuumed rug. EXAMPLE: Help out your hopeless sellers with a thoughtful to-do list. These are all easy fixes to make a home look fab, but your seller may be so distracted that they forget to think about cleaning the house. This is a great format to do such a post, because (remember this!) people love lists. 175. Ask WhyActually, you don’t have to ask, but you can certainly answer. You are a smart, powerful, innovative and thought-provoking Realtor/Blogger! The general public wants to hear what you have to say! EXAMPLE: A good question: Why don’t some people buy? Christina certainly knows the answer! I absolutely love this post, because it’s funny and entertaining. Those are my favorite kind. 176. Protect Your Piece of DirtActually, it’s more like protecting yourself. If you have vacant land, there is very little that can be done to the property to hurt it, you know? You can’t burn it down, or demolish it, or graffiti it or anything like that. But it is recommended that you have liability insurance for your dirt. EXAMPLE: Here’s some advice on what liability insurance is, what it’s for, and how you can get it. The article was written by an underwriter, so you know it’s a good source! 177. Sweat the Small StuffBut only if you’re the seller. Perhaps it would be a good idea for all you Real Estate agents to make yourself a handy little case with things like super glue, tape, patch paint and a few tools. That way you’ll always be prepared, just like a Boy Scout. EXAMPLE: What a fantastically dedicated Realtor you are, Jeff! Jeff was nice enough to go back to his seller’s house and repair an unhinged door for them, simply because a prospective buyer noticed it. This is a great post. 178. Give Kudos to a BuddyYou know a lot of other Realtors, and chances are, they’re blogging too. Maybe they wrote something interesting, that you want to get in on? I bet if you ask them real nice, they’ll let you bogart their article (as long as you give them credit, of course!) EXAMPLE: This article actually involves three of my most favorite people in the blogsphere. Mariana wrote an article for Ines’ blog, and Ines shared it with Laurie to use for her own blog too! It’s so nice to see RE bloggers playing nicely. Great article, Mariana! 179. Scandal Among the LOsDid you know that many Loan Officers are not licensed? I didn’t. Actually, I just never really thought about it before. I am a busy person, so these are not the things I usually ponder. It does bother me to know that people you trust with your personal information aren’t backed by anything substantial, though. EXAMPLE: This is brilliantly written, with just the right amount of drama undertoned in the writing to make it seem like the scandal of the year. I’m glad Randy did the research, otherwise we’d never have known. 180. Be a FanHave a favorite sports team? For me, there are several. I have to represent my Orioles (Go O’s!) and my Ravens (Ray Lewis didn’t do it!) simply because I’m from Baltimore. Believe, hon. But by far, my favorite sports team is the Florida Panthers. I have to admit that I do love hockey. There’s nothing greater in the world than freezing your butt off while watching a 6’5”, 270 lb man get his teeth knocked out of his head to the tune of U2 blaring over the speakers. EXAMPLE: On a less violent note, Chris Lengquist wanted to talk about the Kansas City Royals. Great idea! Talking about his local sports team’s current events, and his opinions of them, make Chris seem like a real person. Readers like real people. Comment from: Chris Lengquist [Visitor] Thanks for the mention. I lived in DC for 15 years and became an O's fan, as well. Until Angelos ruined a great tradition. Also, still to this day, a Caps fan. The speed of the game at the pro level is unbelievable. Comment from: Ines [Visitor] what can I say "fairy blogmother" we like our people and we like to pay nice - Wasn't that a great article by Mariana?...and I hear her new blog is coming along nicely too. : ) Comment on this article This post has no feedback awaiting moderation... |
