Can your real estate blog rank for your prime keywords within months of going live?

How to rank in Google for your prime keywords within weeks or months of going live with your real estate blog

While there is a place for Long Tail search terms (terms related to your prime search terms that will individually cause less search hits but collectively increase your search hits), your bread and butter for driving search traffic to your site needs to be the Short Tail terms (prime keywords like “real estate” or “loans” or “homes” or “condos” and “your farm area”).

Is it possible to make the first page of Google for Short Tail prime keywords within weeks or months of your real estate blog going live?

Yes. It’s simply a matter of following a trusted and true formula for writing a blog title and post.

  1. Write a keyword rich title that expresses benefits
  2. Open your real estate blog post with a keyword rich and benefit expressing sentence.
  3. Use your prime keyword or key phrase at least 4 times in your post.
  4. Link to at least 3 other websites that will offer readers more information on the given topic.
  5. Link to at least 3 other posts on your own blog that will give more insight on the topic.
  6. Format the post with heading tags, bolded text, numbered lists and/or bullet points
  7. Close with a call to action asking readers to subscribe to your blog, contact you, fill out your lead generation tool or search for a home

Thanks for this great post. I am new at blogging, but I know all of the

things you said need to be incorporated. It's just I get so involved in

writing the posts, sometimes it slips my mind. I'm going to print out

your post and keep it at my computer for reference when I post, to

keep me straight and focused.

Karl,

Glad to hear you are getting involved in blogging.  Soemtimes it's good to have a guide in front of you when blogging reminding you of exactly what you need to do to get indexed. The big thing is remember to select one key term to focus on per post, include it in the title of your post and then repeat it througout the post at least 4 times.

Good luck and blog speed,

Mary

In three short weeks, this strategy has allowed me to own the front page for the term "jumbo rates report", also.

The dramatic rise in hits is astounding!  While I typically had 200-300 hits per day, my new blog, when hosted here and written with keyword content, rose to over 800 hits per day (and rising).  I've had three days over 1000 hits.

Friday, I surpassed 1400 hits.  Today, 1000 hits, in 2008?  I'm adding a zero (10,000)

I am going to start keeping the keyword list right by me when we write and watch some of the other bloggers titles and style.

Laurie Manny has been very helpful too!

Once in awhile though a blog must just go up for fun especially at Halloween!

Brian,

We are so happy for your results.

Teri,

I can't believe how fast your blog is climbing in the SERPS

Marc,

We figure you just have your mafia friends hold Google hostage for your rankings.  But, hey, whatever works and who are we to mess with Tony Soprano himself?

This is great advice. Some of it I've probably heard before but just forgotten. I will implement it.

I've had you on my mind...hope you are doing well.

The only thing more satisfying than seeing your work at the top of the engines is when the leads roll in as a result of it.  Considering the flavor of our current market, this is a godsend.

Laurie,

That is very very true.  Your results have exceeded even our expectations.  I am so glad tohear how busy you are now due to your blog.  So, for all the nay sayers out there that dispute traffic and leads, just ask Ms. Manny... she is a working exampe of how a blog can really build your business.

A blog can totally rank for keywords; there is no doubt.  Don't write stupid posts about what you're doing this weekend.  Write heavy posts full of good content that you researched and then optimize it along the way and afterwards.  You will have a flow of business while others' # of transactions are going down.
