Mary - Are these recommendations above and beyond paying for a service like Best Web Directories?

Another alternative would be to use Amazon’s Mechanical Turk Service (paying pennies per task) to  do the mindless inputing into these directories. Have you tried that service before?

I’m sorry, but this list is not what you’re claiming it to be.  Rarely do I see anywhere close to the PR that you’ve listed and most of these sites are designed for purposes completely other than real estate (unlesss you’re selling homes in Latin America or Poland) so to post something on them would be useless spam in their eyes and hopefully deleted within a few minutes if they monitor their content.  Others are deadlinks, probably because they wanted to avoid the traffic that your site is sending their way.  I’m officially removing you from my feedreader because you’re nothing more than a blackhat fraud.  Do you really think that this is what Google had in mind when they developed PR?  YOU are the reason for no follow tags and I’m glad that they were invented.  If you’re such the expert in SEO than you should be able to give people better advise than spamming sites that were created for a purpose other than backlink to your readers.  Respect the internet, don’t wreck it.

Lastly..if you don't like what Mary's saying, go ahead and turn the channel! And by the way...are you implying that no Realtor could read a story about Poland and comment on the actual story?

Or do you think they will just leave a comment like.."Hey all y'all in Poland..if you make it to the states..look me up. I'll sell you a house" (sorry I wrote that in McClellanville speak.

It's not as if we all don't know who YOU are.  Go worry about your own site.  I post lists of places you can build backlinks from- if they go out of business or fall in PR- then don't post there- I compile these lists form trusted sources and I cannot check every link myself- there are thousands of them. If anyone is "worried" because I listed a site that is no longer in existance or fell in a PR update- then they clearly have other issues as do you. 

Don't know which was better the article or the comments to follow.  Way to teach- show both sides of an idea and stay standing!  thanks from a newbie  - cheryl

Thanks for the post! I think a couple of these will definitely come in handy. The only thing I noticed was that many of the sub category pages of these sites (the pages where my link would show) aren't indexed. I guess that is the curse of many of the directories, they have such a huge amount of categories and sub categories, it seems almost impossible for decent page rank/link juice to pass so deep into their sites. Any thoughts on that.

I also had a question about something you said on one of the Unleashed videos. You mentioned something about being able to find most lists of sites where you can get quality links from. Where can I find that on your site? Did I misunderstand?

Thank you.  I hope your family is well too.  Our list of backlink resources, ebooks and other recomended resources can be found in our forum and wiki.  And as much as I would love to provide it to you, I'm not really sure giving a list of backlink resources that took us months to compile to our competitors is really a wise business move.

Thanks for taking the time to post these resources!  Anyone that has tried building links on their own knows that the information you give is INVALUABLE.  Anything that can cut down on the time and effort it takes to identify sites that offer links is a great help!!
