How to get banned by Google

How to get banned by Google

I love redirects, our developers love redirects, heck the majority of the web development community couldn’t live without them. They make life easy and allow you to redirect traffic going to various domains you might own back to a single website. That being said, redirects also can be misused and abused. A growing trend with black hat SEOs is that they use redirects to hijack a domain that has a higher page rank and make Google and other engines think all the backlinks the hijacked site has are actually yours.

How does it work?

Using a 302 redirect, some nefarious black hat SEOs will “hijack” popular website’s Page Rank. Heck, even Google’s own Page Rank has been hijacked. Seriously, a number of black hatters have taken a jab at turning Google on itself.

Check out this article on 302 redirect page rank hijacking.

Want to see a company that hijacked Google’s Page Rank and is now denying it in the most absurd way possible?

Check out NicheBot’s ridiculous denial of hijacking a PageRank 10. Fact is, there are only a handful of Page Rank 10’s out there, so the theory is that NicheBot hijacked Google’s own PageRank.

How to tell if you are dealing with a black hat SEO

What this means is that they tell you they can get your site on the front page of Google and skyrocket your PageRank to a 6+ in less than 30 days. Sometimes these companies will even tell you that you don’t have to pay them until you hit #1 in Google. Wow, sounds too good to be true, right? It is!
